Frequently asked questions about chiropractic care
What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care focuses on the spine, joints and nervous system. At our office it combines adjustments with supportive therapies such as decompression, laser or shockwave when they are appropriate. The goal is to reduce pain and help you move better.
What happens at my first visit, and how do I book?
We start with your health history and an exam, then explain what we found and recommend a care plan. To book, call 770-781-4200 or request an appointment online.
What conditions can chiropractic care help with?
Many patients come to us for back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and joint and muscle pain. Dr. McNamara also has advanced training in neurology, so we can look at balance, dizziness and other nervous system concerns. If we are not the right fit for your problem, we will tell you.
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?
Many patients describe an adjustment as a feeling of relief. Some notice mild soreness for a day, similar to what you might feel after exercise. If anything is uncomfortable, let us know and we will adjust our approach.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on your condition, how long you have had it and how you respond. Some people need a short series of visits, while others benefit from a longer plan. Dr. McNamara will explain what he recommends and why after your exam.
Do you offer a new patient special?
Yes, we offer a new patient special for a first visit. The new patient special is not available for neurological cases, Medicare or Medicaid patients, or motor vehicle injury cases. Call 770-781-4200 and our team can confirm whether you qualify.
Is chiropractic care covered by insurance?
No. McNamara Chiropractic is a self-pay practice and does not accept insurance. Fees are explained before any treatment begins, so there are no surprises. Call us at 770-781-4200 with any questions about cost, or see our insurance and payment page.
